DESCRIPTION:Puppet Showplace presents “Party Animals” by Puppet Motion\n\n\n\n\n\nUnCommon Corner\, Boylston St &\, Tremont St\, Boston\, MA 02116\n\n\n\nParty Animals follows five furry friends as they navigate the biggest social hurdle of their young lives — throwing their first party! Meet a bunny with boundless energy\, a sloth with social anxiety\, a hedgehog wrestling with wrapping\, and a skunk who’s trying to keep everything cool and under control. Through song\, dance\, and original rock ‘n’ roll music by Boston local Phil Berman (of Puppet Playtime & The Holiday Sing-Along)\, these little stars discover that musiccan be an exuberant and healthy way to express their inner selves. This latest Incubator show comes from Sarah Nolen (Puppet Motion) — creator of Judy Saves the Day and Lisa the Wise; and our beloved Resident Artist! Party Animals balances silly antics with deeper truths\, all conveyed through traditional hand puppetry performance: the life of the party!Legendary rock star Pete Townshend once said\, “Rock ‘n’ roll might not solve your problems\, but it does let you dance all over them” — equally true for children and their grown-ups! \n\n\n\nAll ages welcome\, especially enjoyed by ages 4 – 9Hand puppetryLength: 40 minutesLanguage: EnglishFrom Waltham! The development of Party Animals was funded in part by a Family Grant from the Jim Henson Foundation and supported by Puppet Showplace Theater’s Incubator program \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n@puppetshowplace \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n@puppetshowplacetheater \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nwww.puppetshowplace.org

DESCRIPTION:Sheryl Bailey Trio\n\n\n\n\nUnCommon Corner\, Boylston St &\, Tremont St\, Boston\, MA 02116\n\n\n\nThe Clements Brothers are George and Charles Clements\, identical twins from New England. With roots\, rock\, bluegrass\, jazz\, and classical influences\, George (on guitar) and Charles (on bass) aim to capture their singer-songwriter sensibilities in a unique blended voice\, at once enthralling and intimate\, groovy and serene. The duo is a fusion of each brother’s unique musical journey\, and the result is a music all its own\, filled with vocal harmonies\, instrumental virtuosity\, and a genuine love of song. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n@theclementsbros \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n@TheClementsBrothersk \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nwww.theclementsbrothers.com/gallery

SUMMARY:Farayi Malek
DESCRIPTION:Farayi Malek\n\n\n\n\n\nUnCommon Corner\, Boylston St &\, Tremont St\, Boston\, MA 02116\n\n\n\nWith her warm\, soulful voice\, Farayi Malek has captivated audiences around the globe as a Grammy-nominated vocalist with Danilo Pérez’s Global Messengers. Now\, she’s returning to her musical roots\, embarking on a new chapter of her journey. \n\n\n\nThe child of a Zimbabwean immigrant and a white American mother\, Farayi grew up in a small\, rural town in Southern Idaho\, playing the fiddle and absorbing the culture of seemingly conflicting communities. Her goal is to bring all of the diverse sounds and experiences of her life into her music: the Gospel of the church she grew up in\, the American folk music and hymns of her childhood\, and the blues and jazz she studied\, all woven into pure\, resonant songs that allow her effortless vocals to shine. \n\n\n\nNow a Salt Lick Incubator award-winner\, Farayi is stepping out as a solo artist on her much anticipated debut recording project produced by Alain Mallet [Phil Woods\, Paul Simon\, Paquito D’Rivera\, Marc Johnson\, and Madeleine Peyroux.] Her writing showcases very accessible themes with a unique compositional intelligence\, demonstrated in songs like “Tonight”. \n\n\n\nWhen she is not performing and recording\, Farayi shares her vast musical knowledge as a professor at various esteemed institutions including Berklee College of Music and New England Conservatory.  In an interview with The Boston Globe\, Farayi says\, “Seeing my students be so brave and confident\, so artistic and free…they’re the ones who actually inspired me to pursue my artistic career.” \n\n\n\nWhether she is engaging with her audience through performance or education\, Farayi is driven by the desire to make people feel seen and at home in their otherness.  \n\n\n\nShe will be releasing her debut EP March 27th\, 2025. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n@farayi.malek \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n@farayi.malek \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nwww.farayimalek.com

SUMMARY:Goodwin
DESCRIPTION:Goodwin\n\n\n\n\n\nUnCommon Corner\, Boylston St &\, Tremont St\, Boston\, MA 02116\n\n\n\nIf you have seen them live\, or listened to their recordings\, you know that Goodwin is not an easy band to pin down. Indie Funk? Reggae Folk? Art Rock? \n\n\n\nPerhaps they can best be described as both raw and sophisticated. That is\, the songs are unadorned with extraneous frills while offering myriad layers of complexity. \n\n\n\nComprised of Emily Campagna on vocals\, Jason Fletcher on guitar\, Yahuba Garica on percussion\, Michael E Goodwin on vocals/guitar\, Matt Lydon on drums\, and Ethan Stewart on bass\, Goodwin has become an integral and inspired feature of the contemporary sonic landscape. \n\n\n\nExperimentation is always the thing for this band. As such\, Goodwin has welcomed a host of musicians to the stage and into the studio\, notably Danny James on piano\, Ben Lester (Bon Iver\, S Carey) on pedal steel\, Yinfei Li on violin\, Peter Maclean (Maceo Parker) on drums\, Kathleen Parks (Twisted Pine) on fiddle\, Cory Pesatruo on accordion\, Anne Preis on violin\, Chris Sartori (Twisted Pine) on bass\, Celia Sieckert on cello\, and Tamer Tarhan on viola. \n\n\n\nThe band recorded their first album “The Hunt\,” in June of 2023 at The Halo Studio in Windham\, Maine with engineer and co-producer Jonathan Wyman. The final track “Tetons\,” was reviewed by Global Tunes in a fashion that speaks to the ethos of Goodwin’s overall approach: “This track is built little by little until an explosive expressiveness is achieved without losing a sense of softness and sweetness.”  \n\n\n\nFollowing a slew of performances to promote their first album\, the band began work on their second full length record “The Monarch and The Milkweed.” The first two singles\, “Needs” and “New England Man\,” were recorded in February 2024 at Mad Oak Studios in Boston with engineer and co-producer Benny Grotto. The bulk of the album was recorded once again at The Halo Studio with Jonathan Wyman in June of 2024. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n@goodwintunes \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n@goodwintunes \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nwww.goodwintunes.com
