SUMMARY:HipStory Presents The Break
DESCRIPTION:HipStory Presents The Break featuring Dear\, Rose & S AND R\n\n\n\n\n\n“The Break” is bi-weekly showcase dedicated to Boston’s hip-hop/R&B artists and DJs\, connecting the city’s underground talent with new audiences. This program is curated by HipStory. \n\n\n\n\n\nArtist Bios\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDear\, Rose Trio\n\n\n\nDear\, Rose is a modern trio blending jazz\, hip-hop\, gospel\, and soul into honest\, intentional music. We love creating moments that feel both intimate and powerful—whether we’re playing original music\, reimagining familiar songs\, or supporting other artists. Every performance is rooted in groove\, connection\, and the belief that music can bring people together. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nS AND R\n\n\n\nS AND R is the indie-alternative partnership of Saxon Kennedy and Reeve Pope\, bringing an uproarious rock instrumentation to vulnerable\, genre-bending songwriting. Their world is expanding with alternative hip hop-tinged second EP DOWNDOWNDOWN\, a five-act story about spiraling relationships\, fractured friendships\, and unraveling mental health. \n\n\n\nSaxon and Reeve find dialogue onstage\, drum fills responding to guitar riffs and lyrics in a tight embrace. Saxon screams moody confessionals: queerness\, community\, love\, loss\, friends. Behind the drum set\, Reeve retorts in rhythms that pull these quivering stories together. They are backed by a rotating cast of faces that join them onstage\, in the studio\, and behind the scenes. \n\n\n\nThese are the stories that compel you to listen\, to dance\, to shout\, to linger. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInstagram\n\nYouTube

DESCRIPTION:172 Below Presents: GHOULCHELLA\n\n\n\n\nUnCommon Corner\, Boylston St &\, Tremont St\, Boston\, MA 02116\n\n\n\nParty Animals follows five furry friends as they navigate the biggest social hurdle of their young lives — throwing their first party! Meet a bunny with boundless energy\, a sloth with social anxiety\, a hedgehog wrestling with wrapping\, and a skunk who’s trying to keep everything cool and under control. Through song\, dance\, and original rock ‘n’ roll music by Boston local Phil Berman (of Puppet Playtime & The Holiday Sing-Along)\, these little stars discover that music can be an exuberant and healthy way to express their inner selves.  \n\n\n\nParty Animals comes from Sarah Nolen (of Puppet Motion) — creator of Judy Saves the Day and Lisa the Wise; and our beloved Resident Artist! The show balances silly antics with deeper truths\, all conveyed through traditional hand puppetry performance: the life of the party! \n\n\n\nLegendary rock star Pete Townshend once said\, “Rock ‘n’ roll might not solve your problems\, but it does let you dance all over them” — equally true for children and their grown-ups! \n\n\n\nPuppet Showplace Theater is Boston’s home for puppet show joy — with shows nearly every weekend\, for kids and adults\, just steps from the Brookline Village T stop! Puppet Showplace is dedicated to presenting outstanding puppetry to diverse audiences through performances\, workshops\, and community outreach.
