Olivia Soler Duo

Olivia Soler has been accepted at Berklee College of Music with a partial tuition scholarship. Currently in her first semester, she has also won the prestigious Gifted Tuition Scholarship from the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation in 2023. Originally from Havana, Cuba, Olivia is Berklee’s first female tres player. She joined the college in September of 2022, and her exceptional skill with the tres—a traditional Cuban instrument akin to the guitar—has significantly supported her studies through the financial aid provided by the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation. Soler began playing the guitar nearly a decade ago and later took up the tres. Now, at just 21 years old, she has proven her mettle in the music and tres communities. Olivia currently receives specialized instruction within the Guitar Department, as the tres is not broadly represented at Berklee. Nevertheless, Soler’s achievements and presence at Berklee are likely to inspire future generations of tres players.
